FP-3 Case 22 · All-on-X · Implants
Four Years, Six Appointments
She had a budget, a timeline of years, and an upper jaw that needed rebuilding first.
She came with a limited budget and both jaws in need of work. She had been to several places for treatment, including Mexico, without finding somewhere she felt comfortable that was also within reach. She wanted to spread the treatment over three to four years so she could budget for it.
Her upper teeth came first. The first phase placed her implants and made strong, beautiful provisional restorations that lasted the entire four years the work took.

Her profile, before and after

What the lips were resting on
Worn lower teeth and an upper jaw with nothing left to support the lip.
At arrival

The finished teeth

Titanium and acrylic, in one piece
Her prosthesis is titanium and acrylic: a design developed at the practice with a master technician and CAD-CAM. A framework is made to support the teeth, and the teeth are made from acrylic resin as a single piece and attached to the titanium. It looks natural, it is affordable, and it is very strong. Individual teeth do not break off it, which is what typically happens with a traditional upper prosthesis.
Should there ever be a problem, new teeth can be milled at minimal cost and attached to the original framework, which extends the life of the prosthesis.
What the radiographs show
The full-mouth series at arrival, and the panoramic view after: the implants in place and the titanium framework carrying the upper teeth.

After treatment

Back to yoga
In six appointments over about four years, her smile was transformed. She is back to her normal life, to yoga and everything else she loves, and no longer embarrassed by her smile. She was so happy with the upper jaw that she is now preparing to have the lower done as well.
Before and after

Every case is planned around one person's anatomy. Individual results vary, and what was right for this patient may not be right for you.
