Tooth-Borne Case 5 · Cosmetic

All of It, at Once, and Matched

A few things had started to give him problems.

Small concerns, the sort that are simple to postpone another year. Treating them one by one would have left a smile whose parts still disagreed with each other.

So the repair became a decision instead: the whole thing done together, every tooth answering to the ones beside it.

What it had to meet

A camera is unforgiving in a way a mirror is not

His work set the standard higher than most. He is photographed for a living, and the smile had to belong to his face and his persona while a lens went looking for anything that did not.

Through a lens, a tooth behaves differently than it does across a room: the shade, the surface texture, the translucency, the way a key light catches an edge. Materials and design get chosen against that, rather than against how the work looks on the afternoon it is fitted.

Every case is planned around one person's anatomy. Individual results vary, and what was right for this patient may not be right for you.
